This is the very first draft of my first published picture book (by no means my first writtenpicture book). It is (thus far) the only first draft of mine that appeared nearly fully formed- although my ‘mouse’ changed to a penguin, the story of ‘Little Penguin Gets the Hiccups’ is pretty much there. Usually, my stories go through dozens of rewrites before they are ready for the public eye, meaning that:
A. I have lots of practice at editing
B. Looking at someone else’s writing makes for a rather lovely break
I offer consultation for children’s stories, whether you need help with the words, the pictures, or how the two work together.

My Process
I am committed to providing feedback that is valuable to all the people I work with, so will read your picture book manuscript (or 1000 words of a longer project) to assess whether my services might be worthwhile to you before taking on a project.
1. Initial video call – We’ll discuss your story and your goals.
2. Detailed critique – I review your manuscript and provide feedback- both big-picture and line-by-line edits. After having time to respond to suggested edits, there will be one more round of revisions, followed by…
3. Concluding video call – An opportunity to discuss the revised version of the story, and to provide avenues for further exploration.
